Its 2 OVAs were previously subbed, but no one ever did the series.
I say that because not too many animes focus on gourmet food. Oishinbo is a really underrated series.
“TV Series, 136 episodes” is most probably beyond this group’s capacity and interest at this point in time 🙂
That doesn’t mean you wouldn’t rule it out in the future, though?
I can say with 99.9% certainty that we won’t sub this, sorry. Takes a lot of effort to fansub, and I don’t think anybody is willingly taking on a 136 ep series, when there is a lot of other shows which are also interesting and more importantly… shorter.

Heh, looked like a troll request. I mean, Saizen would take roughly 20 years to finish Kochikame. They’ve already got several projects going, so any more long series simply aren’t doable. It would take a singularly dedicated group to do it, one that could do 1 or more episodes per week consistently.
I’d like the two 80s Jack London anime TV Specials to be tackled someday, Call of the Wild and White Fang, but I haven’t been able to find quality raws for either.
I don’t know *any* group who’d take that project up.

I never saw the anime version of White Fang, but I remember watching the anime version of Call of the Wild a long time ago. However, it was the English dubbed version. 😮

I think that maybe before asking here you can check the project page and if it isn’t there it might be dropped.
We will ALWAYS announce if we drop an active project. It doesn’t happen often, and usually only licensing forces our hand, but yeah, we’d tell you guys first when a decision like that is made. So don’t ask 😛
Out of our 10 dropped projects, only Ring ni Kakero 1, Slam Dunk, The Kabocha Wine, and GaoGaiGar were dropped to other reasons than licensing too.

Anonymous, you should become a member of Saizen and start a project for Gamba, then.
Just so you guys know: just because one member of the team wants a project, it doesn’t nesscarely happen. You need a full fansub team to make it happen. (Translator, timer, editor, typesetter, encoder, 3 quality checkers). So at the very minimum you need 4 people on projects in Saizen.
You mean, you need eight, not four, to start a project in Saizen. We’d never cut down on staff and risk our high quality releases just to get a project off the ground 😛
